Description:
Support the facility and local staff as a Project Manager Intern, start on a development path and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

Our Project Manager Intern will help oversee full-time associates, delivering our scope of work in the operations and maintenance (O&M) of a wastewater treatment facility including staffing, training and development, progressive discipline, rewards and recognition, and performance management in accordance with standard company policy. Additionally, the Project Manager Intern will provide support for project, client and company initiatives around health and safety, environmental compliance, data management, continuous improvement, contract administration, among others.

Main Areas of Responsibility:
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records and prepare reports required by the client and all regulatory agencies
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, subordinates, and the client
- Help ensure a culture that focuses on environmental and health and safety compliance
- Ability to review process details and trends
Understanding of operating regulatory permits
- Ability to understand, explain and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, operation and maintenance manuals and other applicable standards
- Administer and monitor operational budgets to attain financial objectives
- Develop plans and procedures to ensure that facilities operate within permit limits as an integrated system
- Recommend additions or improvements to the treatment facilities and analyze cost effectiveness
- Maintain technical operational skills at the highest level and remain informed of the latest developments in the field
- May be responsible for the administration and technical support of one or more treatment plants
- Inspect facilities, analyze and evaluate O&M functions, review records and data, interview and select new O&M personnel, initiate or recommend new or improved O&M methods or practices (SOP's, O&M manuals, best practices, Asset - Management Program)
- Prepare O&M and compliance monthly reports for the client as well as local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; prepare, review, and approve operations reports and budget requests from subordinate department heads
- Assist in the preparation of specifications for major equipment and material purchases
- Maintain effective communications and working relationships with employees, the client, consultants, and the public

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of industrial, water or wastewater facilities
- State ABC or State Level 3 Certification as a water/wastewater operator; a 1-year grace period to attain certification is acceptable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Possess a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record with no major infractions

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Supervisory experience
- Understanding of the technical aspects of the facility to be managed
- Demonstrated interpersonal relations and personnel management skills
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time and eventually relocate out of the area if needed
