Georgia-Pacific is seeking Regional E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) / PLC Technicians to provide technical and maintenance support, conduct specialized repairs, and drive reliability initiatives across our OSB and Composite mills.

This role will work closely with our mill maintenance teams and serve as an SME in delivering specialized technical assistance that drives long-term equipment reliability. This includes monitoring equipment performance, conducting inspections, initiating specialized repairs and parts replacement to electrical equipment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate advanced levels of E&I technical / PLC capabilities resulting in safety excellence, quality assurance, compliance, and maximizing asset performance.

Positions will provide technical support for mills in the Clarendon and Allendale SC area and can be remote based or facilities based. Remote candidates will need to reside in the area and be able to commute to the facilities as needed or required.

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Working with the Production and Reliability Teams to identify and eliminate potential failures; driving unplanned events down and mitigating machine downtime
Analyzing data and deriving insights that facilitate Root Cause Analysis of premature failures; offering sustainable solutions, and implementing corrective actions/measures preventing reoccurrence and in developing asset strategies
Utilizing work processes and Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document findings and initiate corrective actions and repairs
Demonstrating troubleshooting skills that allow equipment to operate as designed in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications
Ensuring proper operation of electrical/control system components including motors and drive controllers, programmable logic controls (PLC’s), I/O modules, safety controllers, sensors, etc.
Collaborating closely with mill personnel; mentoring and sharing knowledge with other Technicians and Maintenance staff that drive virtuous cycles of success
What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Electrical & Instrumentation experience: a minimum of four years of expertise in the electrical field; electrical/electronic or instrument & control
PLC programming and/or troubleshooting experience
Troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
Willing and able to work across multiple shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed, inclusive of required travel.

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Technical degree or higher in Electrical field
Expertise in wood products
Working knowledge of process equipment, control systems, drive components, electrical distribution systems
Experience with systems integration e.g.: PLC, HMI, instrumentation, networking, communication and power distribution
Experience with computer operating systems, networks and electronic information handling
Experience with Honeywell, Experion or other Distributed Control System (DCS) platforms
Experience with Fanuc or other robotic equipment
