Provides direct patient care within scope of practice.
Education: High School Diploma/GED and graduation from a medical assistant program.
Experience: Experience as a certified medical assistant preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current license as a Medical Assistant/Certified for Washington State required. Pass the mandatory 8-hour Blood Borne Pathogen training within 1 month of hire. CPR certification within 3 months of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual English/Spanish with demonstrated ability to communicate at level 10 on the ALTA language proficiency scale; ability to learn medical terminology, anatomy, disease transmission and prevention in English and Spanish; and must be able to competently communicate verbally and in writing in both English and Spanish

With integrated services including medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, primary care nutritional counseling, autism screening, and primary care behavioral health, YVFWC’s patient-centered model of care offers patients the full spectrum of care and shelter assistance, energy assistance, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling and testing, home visits, and four mobile medical/dental clinics.
