The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Electrician Supervisor at Larch Corrections Center.

FACILITY PROFILE Larch Corrections Center opened in 1956 with the current operating capacity of 480 residents. LCC is a minimum custody facility located on a relatively remote 40 acre site, approximately 20 miles northeast of Vancouver, WA. The site is leased from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The DNR also maintains a facility on site and provides work for the residents. LCC employs about 120 staff members. Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State Department of Corrections professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all offenders can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, plan and execute electrical maintenance tasks such as inspections, diagnostics, repairing, maintenance, modification and installation of all electrical equipment and systems to include: electrical motors, 120v, 208v, 277v, and 480v single and three phase electrical systems. This position will require the supervision of work crews of both skilled and unskilled workers performing both electrical and maintenance work.

Maintain, repair and install all lighting systems to include incandescent, metal halide, high pressure sodium and fluorescent types of various voltage ranges.

Schedule and perform electrical inspections in cooperation with the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. 

Operate, repair, inspect, maintain motor control systems, automatic control system, switching gear and pump motors. 
Maintain, install, and repair electrical power to commercial kitchen equipment to include: steam kettles, ranges, grills, hot food carts, ovens, and steam tables. 

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install electrical power for refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and heat pump systems. 

Operate and maintain the facility recycling and composting program. 

Maintain, repair and operate facility boilers. 

Measuring use of and ordering fuel for facility operations such as:
- Onsite Boilers.
- Onsite generators. 

Operate facility utility, state and other special vehicles for official on and offsite use. 

This position will be responsible for managing the facility "Lock-Out - Tag-Out" program. 

Assist other trades when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications:
 High school diploma or equivalent.
 A valid driver's license. (Must have the ability to keep AND maintain valid driver's license. If a permanent resident of Washington State, successful candidate must have a Washington State Driver's License.)
 A CURRENT Washington State Journeyman Electrical License. ( Candidates must have possession of this credential before applying.)

Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience working in a correctional setting.  Knowledge of general construction and maintenance trades.  Paid experience supervising and managing a team or crew, or the work of other paid electricians/workers.
