James Hardie is opening a new plant in the Frederickson area and we are looking for new Heavy Industrial Mechanics to assist with the start up. Our Heavy Industrial Mechanics are a vital member of the James Hardie Building Products team, responsible for working with machinery and other employees to create high quality fiber cement building products. This position will support all maintenance and facilities activities. This role is very active with little down time and will keep you busy all shift. The Heavy Industrial Mechanic will become intimately familiar with all of our machines and will be responsible for troubleshooting and correcting problems, as well as assisting the maintenance department with increased reliability.

The best Heavy Industrial Mechanics are self-motivated, naturally inquisitive, and will strive to understand complex processes and procedures and then challenge themselves and others for continuous improvement and high product quality. The most successful Heavy Industrial Mechanics embrace progressive thinking and are willing to work on multiple assignments throughout the shift. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, pumps and piping is preferred.
Someone with a stable work history and the ability to demonstrate past successes related to a manufacturing or similar production environment. Three or more years in heavy industrial maintenance is a plus.
As a 24/7 manufacturing facility of fiber cement building products, we ask that you be able to:
• Flexibility with shifts: maintenance shifts vary from 8 hour days to 12 hour shift work
• Ability to be on-call
• Lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Walk, stand and/or sit for extended period of time.
• Read, write and speak English.
• Work around bulk raw materials, moving equipment, high pressure water, varying temperatures and other environmental conditions related to cement board manufacturing.
• Use multiple types of personal protective equipment.
