Our client, a fourth generation family owned contracting company is seeking a hardworking, mechanically minded Equipment Tech to assist with the installation and repair of deep set well pumps and other water system projects in the field. In this direct-hire position, the Equipment Tech will work on: electric motors, pressure tanks, valves, electrical, and plumbing components, keeping the company moving forward as they strive to build valued relationships and remain a trusted customer resource in the industry.
Established in 1955 and located in Vancouver, WA, our client has grown to become the Pacific Northwest’s leading supplier of pumps, motors, controls, valves, tanks, variable speed drives and so much more.
In your role as Equipment Tech you will:
Take ownership for quick completion and quality of projects.
Prepare work after receiving and studying work orders; gathering necessary tools and supplies.
Drive manual transmission vehicles to and from project sites.
Wire and install pumps, motors, tanks, pipes, valves, controls and other accessories.
Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components.
Add value to a team by aiding and speeding completion of projects.
Work well independently.
Maintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with codes.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Be self motivated to improve personal skill set.
The knowledge, skills and abilities you need include:
Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude
Hard working, showing hustle and initiative
Knowledge of hand and power tools
High School Diploma
Able to regularly lift 100 lbs.
Quick learner with strong verbal and written communication
Good customer service skills
Dependable with good personal time management skills
Strong problem solving skills
Drug test and background check
Clean driving record
Work towards CDL and Pump Installers license
Candidates with: Electrical License, Plumbing License, Heavy Machinery Operation, Welding and Fabrication, Machining Experience, or Crane Licenses are highly desired.
Hours: Full time 40 hours/week. 8-4:30 M-F, with some overtime opportunities
