NORTH FRANKLIN SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a motivated, independent, skilled Lead Electrician/HVAC Technician. This stable, year round position offers a great work environment, good starting wage and a generous benefit package.
Position is responsible for all high and low voltage systems. HS grad, 2 yrs experience with commercial electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems along with HVAC-PLC controls. Approved two-year vocational training program may be substituted for work experience, O6A electrician’s card, Universal Refrigeration Certification required. O6A card must be active w/in 1 yr of employment.
Must meet physical requirements for the position. Must maintain a valid WDL.
POSITION TITLE: Lead Electrician/HVAC/Maintenance Technician – Temporary Leave Replacement
LOCATION: District Maintenance & Operations
•Support the Maintenance & Operations Department in keeping the facilities in a condition to meet our mission of the M&O Department. This position performs a variety of specialized tasks to install, maintain, adjust, diagnose and repair commercial systems related to: all electrical; mechanical/HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing; low voltage; telecommunications; fire protection; intrusion alarms; security cameras; lighting controls; PLC controls; and all but not limited to related facility maintenance throughout North Franklin School District.
•Accomplishes duties as described for general maintenance, alterations and construction in the building trades (general mechanical, plumbing, etc.).
•Read plans and blueprints; determines scope of work, materials needed and their cost and availability.
•Repairs electric main service and feeders.
•Installs and moves control cables, computers and telephones.
•Determines sources for electrical and communication materials and supplies; orders and maintains Inventory.
•Performs support for all other general maintenance activities.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Must be in good physical condition; requires dexterity and precision; required to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 70 lbs on a regular basis; required to work on ladders and at extreme heights (including roofs and attics) and to work effectively in tight quarters; required to use ground machinery with moving parts; required to wear protective clothing or devices; exposed to high noise levels; required to work outdoors in inclement weather, exposed to clear and present danger to personal safety when working with high voltage panels.
•High School graduation or equivalent with strong skills in reading, writing and communication with attention to details.
•Minimum of 2 years work experience with commercial electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems along with HVAC-PLC controls. Applicable vocational training may be substituted for work experience on a year for year basis.
•Approved two-year vocational training program, 06A electrician’s card and a Universal Refrigeration Certification. O6A Card must be of active status with 1 yr of employment.
•Ability to accurately read blueprints, schematics, P/M books and follow directions.
•Ability to work independently; knowledge of standard practices of Electrical & HVAC trade, including materials, tools, electrical testing equipment and procedures used in connection with HVAC systems.
•Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and web based maintenance programs.
•Maintain Valid Washington State driver’s license.
•Training in CPR and First Aid certification, or obtain within 6 months.
•Maintain punctuality, dependability, flexibility, and good attendance. Must possess a strong work ethic.
•Must have 3 positive recommendations from previous employers.
•Must be successful on written general maintenance, electrical, and refrigeration tests.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
•This is a temporary leave replacement position starting immediately with an ending date TBD
•Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day
