This position ensures that all inventory transactions are completed efficiently and accurately for all warehouse locations. The role interacts with internal and external personnel to determine the accuracy of inventory movement.
Prepares AP vouchers and validates charges for warehouse invoices
Enter daily receipts, shipments, and adjustments using various warehouse documents
Assist with EDI transaction uploads transmitted by warehouse locations
Follows up on inventory variances and errors to resolve in a timely manner
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly record comparisons with warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy
Communicate open issues clearly and consistently to plant/warehouse locations for resolution
Create entries to adjust inventory balances
Scan and index inventory accounting paperwork into BMI software
Cross train with department members and be able to provide back up support
Travel to plant/warehouse locations for annual physical inventory audits
Assist with the implementation of process improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience in warehousing, inventory, etc.
2+ year degree in accounting (or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred
Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles
Proven ability to assist in driving process improvements and increase working effectiveness
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong PC skills to include Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook
The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be a team player and willing to work in a team environment
