Job Description:
The Occupational Medicine Coordinator is responsible for being a liaison between Claim Managers, Providers and patients in order to help facilitate timely patient care and promote continuity of services regarding Workers Compensation and WA State L&I Services. Aids patients in navigating and understanding their medical recommendations and options via Workers Compensation. Have a working knowledge of WA State L&I forms and procedures as well as Self Insured Companies. Initiate & generate fee slips to submit provider requests to correct Provider, complete all steps including updating monthly stats log. Make phone calls or website visits to verify claims are in allowed status, take appropriate action if not. Initiate and follow up on authorization requests with claim managers. Help patients receive needed follow-up care by referral to appropriate health care, and ancillary services. Assure that patient's medically related needs are met and maintained throughout their medical treatment. Responsible for maintaining and improving professional competence. Participates in education/research activities. Works closely with all members of the team to assure knowledge is shared and workflows are appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 1 year occupational medicine or healthcare experience preferred.

Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Certified Medical Assistant in the state of Washington preferred. Current BLS preferred.

Configurated Hours: Configuration 40 hour work week - Overtime accrues when working over 40 hours in a Sunday - Saturday work week
