Job Description:
The Network Specialist is responsible for supporting Tree Top systems and networks in order to maintain peak efficiency. Position serves as a team member in the Information Services Operations team; by providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems and determines and implements solutions.

This position reports to Information Service Operations Manager and does not supervise staff. The position works closely with the Information Services department, outside vendors and consultants, and supports Tree Top employees.

Respond to computer-related questions and problems from the user community who contact Help Desk. Resolve user problems by reviewing procedures and actions taken by users; instructing users to perform diagnostic procedures; coordinating with experienced staff to identify valid resolutions when outside their area of expertise; and issuing corrective instructions to the users. Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved.

Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software. Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems. Install computer peripherals. Create accounts and configure end user computing environment as part of on-boarding process. Analyze information and specifications, provide recommendations for improvement, and install configurations and upgrades as directed.

Serve as a team player in assigned duties to support I.S. projects. Support includes but is not limited to: lease replacements, new hardware deployment, network architecture and infrastructure upgrades and configurations, and unified communications configurations.
Provide ongoing monitoring of system performance and needs, including evaluation and identification of alternative solutions, for equipment malfunctions when they occur. Ensure that services achieve a target of 99.5% availability.
Other duties may be added and /or assigned as needed.
Maintain regular attendance and work hours as necessary to get the essential functions completed.

File Server Knowledge
Experience imaging devices

Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions.
Effectively execute standard operating procedures to support IS projects and programs and communicate program/project facts and results to I.S. Operations management.
Analyze computer and network system problems; project consequences of proposed actions; and provide recommendations for and execution of problem solutions.
Effectively use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Gain cooperation through discussion and persuasion.
Meet behaviors established in Tree Top’s performance management and development process.

An Associate’s degree or vocational school/training in Computer Science, Business Management, or related is preferred.
Prior experience providing information services analysis and support in multi-location environment is preferred.
