At Generations OB/GYN, you will work in a high volume, fast paced environment. The Patient Services Coordinator will answer a large amount of calls each day, and work to schedule appointments accurately and efficiently. The clinic is open from 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, and 8am-1pm on Friday.
The Patient Services Coordinator provides the initial patient/clinic contact. He or she performs a variety of functions and is helpful and cordial to all patients and/or customers. Updates patient information, provides any necessary forms needing completion, and obtains signatures as necessary. Maintains competency on all applicable computer systems. Schedules patients for appointments as needed. Completes applicable requested forms. Schedules consultation and diagnostic appointments for patients per provider/assistant request and documents necessary. Verifies insurance eligibility, as appropriate. Executes patient needs expeditiously. Provides telephone coverage. Utilizes good customer service practices for all callers. Contributes to professional communication with team members in order to convey important information relating to patient care, operations, or clinical needs. Maintains awareness of changes in protocols/procedures of the department. Maintains productivity and clinical flow efficiently during working hours. Prepares charts for each clinical session and ensures lab, diagnostic test results, History & Physical Examinations or other documentation are in charts as appropriate. Responsible for scheduling transportation and/or interpreters for patient, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: One year experience as a medical receptionist or other related field preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
