POSITION TITLE: Accounts Receivable Clerk
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance
FLSA: Non-Exempt/Hourly

The Accounts Receivable Clerk provides support and assistance related to general accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate payment of accounts.

The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that maybe assigned to this position. Borton & Sons, Inc. may augment duties, including essential functions, at its discretion.
Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.
Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of other staff.
Collaborates other accounting staff to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.
Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.
Assists in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities/multi-task in a fast paced environment
Exceptional customer service skills
Related accounting experience preferred
Proficient math skills as related to position
Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and 10-key application
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred
Demonstrated ability to accurately enter, track, and analyze data
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Proven ability to work both independently and as a part of a team

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in accounting or related field preferred
Two years related experience preferred

This position requires sitting, standing, and walking, potentially for long periods of time, as required by the task. A large share of work is completed using standard computer/office equipment. Occasional lifting related to role of up to 25 pounds.

Borton & Sons, Inc. is a 12‐month, two‐shift facility which can require occasional and seasonal overtime.
