The Project Manager oversees and facilitates a cross functional project team to work together throughout the life of a project with the objective of meeting the expectations of the customer while meeting the schedule, budget, and Davis-Standard agreed to objectives.
Manage projects using project management tools to manage a formal project action plan that will result in a quality on time delivery and basic customer satisfaction.
Participate in sales and closing meetings with the customer.
Schedule and facilitate project kick-off, and subsequent project review meetings.
Be the D-S single point of contact with the customer for all project issues.
Develop a project schedule that drives the organization to meet the on time delivery.
Monitor the project budget and keep all stakeholders informed of the budget and POC status.
Prepare project status reports and present at the contract review meetings.
Facilitate problem resolution on open questions, problems, and issues.
Ensure that all project documents are updated, maintained and distributed.
Manage customer expectations of D-S, and our requirements of them.
Ensure deviations from the specification are considered for cost and delivery implications.
Ensure that safety audits, equipment checkouts, and floor tests are completed.
Ensure the equipment is complete, checklists are completed, and all deliverables are accounted for.
Ensure that shipment and project closure meetings are held per the project plan.
Visit the customer site to assess the progress of the start-up.
Ensure open item issues are resolved quickly to obtain customer acceptance per the project plan.
Enforce safety, confidentiality, and regulations of D-S and the customer.
Work with functional managers to assure resources efficiently meet the needs of the project.
Other duties as requested to support and promote improvement of D-S project management.
A four-year degree in engineering is preferred. Other technical degrees will be considered with additional engineering or project manager experience.
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification or experience is beneficial.
Knowledge of the equipment, the industry, and processes is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
Motivate and lead the team members to meet the project objectives and manage any conflicts.
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to navigate typical business programs and media.
Bachelors or better in Accounting
