Classification: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
General Statement of Duties
To perform highly skilled and complex mechanical repairs. Perform the duties of a mechanic involved in inspecting, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding and maintaining light and heavy duty equipment. Ability to perform heavy manual labor. Work special hours as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the "Maintenance Supervisor”.

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties:
Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
Perform painting, heating, drilling, bolting, welding, brazing, soldering, or cutting operations.
Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies. Report findings to Supervisor.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Analyze performance of equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor and other Farm Supervisors
Monitor product flow during harvesting to ensure uninterrupted flow to the plants and relieve Harvester Operators when necessary.
Performs basic diagnostics on agricultural equipment
Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual Procedures
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Skills and Qualifications:
A professional Industrial Maintenance Mechanic will be expected to possess the following aptitude and qualifications that enhance performance of duties:
High school diploma with not less than five years practical experience in the maintenance field
Outstanding experience and expertise in maintenance and installation work on plant mechanical mechanisms and equipment.
Strong knowledge of mechanisms and control systems.
Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of power driven equipment and tools.
Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of process equipment.
Attention to Detail, Flexibility, Job Knowledge, Productivity.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with other employees.
Ability to understand and carry out simple and complex oral and written instructions.
Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Must maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License.
Good traffic record.
Exceptional ability to perform in a noisy, hot and high volume machine production environment.
Ability to work long hours as needed.
Fluent English speaking and writing skills
Bi lingual a plus.
A self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others.
