Genentech is Hiring Instrumentation Technicians. This is an opportunity to work in a well established world class facility while getting GMP (good manufacturing processes), manufacturing, utilities, and Bio-pharma experience. You will calibrate and gain experience with troubleshooting a wide range of instruments on process equipment, HVAC and Utility systems across multiple production buildings. You will be working with experts in the field who are dedicated to sharing their experience and knowledge to help you succeed. You will also work with manufacturing, process engineering, automation, facilities, quality and others to get exposure to new fields. Our site is transitioning from Commercial to Clinical production, and we have a full schedule from now until we retire the commercial facility at the end of 2023 or into 2024. -Perform installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of process control instruments and systems in a manufacturing and industrial utilities setting
-Document work performed in accordance with applicable procedures in electronic and paper based systems.
-Follow detailed instructions, adhere to local and network guidelines/requirements, and speak up when issues are encountered
-Communicate with a diverse group of team members, customers, equipment users, engineers, automation personnel, and other partner functions
Education and Experience
-Completion of Instrumentation or Industrial Electronic 2-year curriculum at a technical school, or other relevant degree / equivalent on the job training
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Familiarity with cGMPs and FDA guidelines is a bonus
-Knowledge of the operating principles of industrial process instrumentation and control systems
-Team player with high tolerance for a dynamic and changing environment
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Safety Considerations
-Schedule may include non-rotating 3-day week with alternating 4-day week (12 hour work shift)
-This role will require working in clean room and industrial/mechanical environments
-Work areas may contain hazardous materials, chemicals, electricity, rotary equipment, etc. Role requires adherence to all applicable safety guidelines and training
-Active role which includes lifting up to 25 lbs, navigating stairs/ladders/scaffolding, transporting calibration equipment to the location of instruments, and working away from a desk for the majority of working shift.
