Job Purpose

BMW Lube Technician

Valid operator’s license and insurable by Centers provider

Working Relationship

Report to the Shop Foreman / Service Manager
Work cooperatively with all departments and personnel

Technical Responsibilities

Perform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with factory and Center standards
Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend/perform appropriate repairs, assure that all work performed meets or exceeds quality control standards set forth by the manufacturer, this Centers department manager
Examine vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to Service Advisor
Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts
Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised
Clearly and accurately document all work performed
Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate
Attend and successfully complete factory training as required by factory or Center
Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
Follow warranty material disposition procedures
Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes

Logistical Responsibilities

Maintain the order and cleanliness of work areas; be able to account for all Center-owned tools at all times.
Meet all requirements of state and federal law dealing with automobile repair and consumer protection.

Ongoing Responsibilities

Complete tasks on schedule; accept accountability for work results.
Understand and follow all safety rules and guidelines.
Speak and read well.
Accept additional or different tasks when circumstances change (e.g., emergencies, changes in personnel, work load, rush jobs, new technologies)
Ability to learn. Learn and apply new information, tools and technologies without expending excessive resources or time.
Must demonstrate respect for community work areas and special tools

Dress Code

This position requires a uniform, which is provided by the dealership. The uniform remains the property of the dealership and must be returned at termination of employment. The dealership will be responsible for laundering and replacement of uniform, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
