Summary:
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components and industrial machinery and equipment, with minimum supervision, by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment's.

Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers.

Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.

Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components.

Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Ability to understand and interpret wiring diagrams.

Ability to perform additional general tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, welding, cement work, plumbing, sheet metal work, roofing, etc.

Ability to install or work on Variable Frequency Drives.

Assist in training of mechanics in lower brackets.

Ability to troubleshoot problems using PLC. Able to write ladder diagram programs into PLC.

Must receive and understand MSDS training and Safety regulations.

Must maintain a clean working area.

​Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two year college or technical school plus 2 year related experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, ladder (wire) diagrams, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability and knowledge to use fine instruments with proficiency.
Knowledge and skill to safety, and correctly use hand tools required for the job.
