The Referral Coordinator executes patient insurance referrals, consultations, and diagnostic procedures relating to the clinic.
Schedules consultation and diagnostic appointments for patients per provider/assistant request and documents necessary information. Completes requested forms for Medicare, the Department of Health, Social Services, Insurance, and specialty offices. Obtain insurance authorization for appointments. Contact patients to provide appointment date, time, location and preparation information for appointment. Answers questions regarding patient appointments and testing. Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information to patients about the referral process. Exemplifies excellent customer service with patients, visitors, and other employees. Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, helpfulness, and respect. Maintains and ensures patient privacy and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
•Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
•Experience: One year experience in the medical or health insurance field preferred.
