Paradigm is actively recruiting for an entry to mid-level Electronics Manufacturing Technician on behalf of our client who is a provider of medical microelectronics located south of Portland in Lake Oswego.

The Electronics Manufacturing Technician will work with automated equipment and will perform a variety of machine set-up, assembly inspection and rework operations. Additionally, this role will be responsible for routine maintenance and monitoring the performance of various tools and systems.

Type: 6 month contract-to-hire, on-site, full time
Shifts: Day, Swing, Graveyard; multiple positions available
Location: Portland Metro Area
Pay Rate: Starting at $19/hour and up, DOE

As an Electronics Manufacturing Technician, you will:

Perform complex assembly on engineering and prototype builds
Set up and operate automated equipment and manual assembly equipment
Efficiently set up workstations and prep multiple assembly lines for next shop order
Be responsible for first-level trouble-shooting, equipment recoveries and repairs that are commensurate with level of expertise, training, and latitude provided by Process Engineering
Perform machine set-up, routine maintenance, and monitoring of tools and systems
Perform inspection work, and assist and train lower level assemblers
Read production schedules, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Electrical Schematics, blueprints and assembly diagrams
Maintain accurate records, and be responsible for quality charting, prioritization, analyzing and interpreting data tracking, and running reports through an automated Manufacturing Execution System for continuous improvement and tracking of factory deliverables
Notify management of any conditions felt as being undesirable or nonconforming to product specification and any procedures that cannot be performed as documented
Provide written and verbal summaries of process, design, and component issues encountered during assembly
Our skills and experience wish list includes:

Associate’s degree highly preferred, Electrical or Electronics Engineering ideal
2+ years of experience with circuit board assembly, inspection Bills Of Materials (BOMs), Electrical Schematics, manual soldering
IPC 610 Cerification highly preferred
Experience working with automated equipment
The ability to work independently, troubleshoot and solve problems with limited direction
Inspection skills, including board inspection under a microscope experience
Experience with Surface Mount Soldering skills, manual soldering skills, and soldering under a microscope required
Experience with soldering/rework, board assembly and Lean Manufacturing is preferred
Ability to read and interpret drawings and documentation
Ability to independently make important decisions regarding escalation or troubleshooting issues on factory floor
Must possess a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts, in the performance of essential functions
Ability to Lift 20 pounds required
