We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to contribute to the overall success of the company.
The CNC Machinist coordinates with the CNC machine shop manager to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to fabricate, modify or repair precision parts, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the CNC Machine Shop Manager the CNC Machinist will:
•Machine parts to specifications, using CNC machine tools [such as lathes, milling machines] and other manual machine tools such as shapers or grinders
•Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
•Manufacture, select and install fixtures, part holding, and tooling to machine parts as necessary
•Adjust machine speeds and feeds and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications
•Confirm conformance of finished work to specifications, using measuring instruments
•Test and modify existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements, MASTERCAM programming exposure preferred.
•Develop solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems to ensure organizational objectives and deadlines are met
•Develop and monitor department documentation, including operational instructions and/or standard procedures
•Perform some simple machine preventative maintenance functions, update preventative maintenance schedules as needed, and keep machines clean
•Perform quality control, inspection and testing of machined parts
•Support continuous improvement of products and processes
•Troubleshoot problems with products or equipment during production
•Read and comprehend detailed blueprints and other similar authorized drawings and documents
•Operate production equipment and tools in accordance with work instructions, safety procedures and training
•Prepare packaging and documentation for finished products.
•Create and maintain production related documents, such as work instructions, quality forms, or inspection checklists
•Maintain a neat and organized workspace and facility
•Research and select suppliers and consultants required for in-house fabrication startup. Outsource services required for machine installations.
•Attends recommended machine training courses.
•Works with Purchasing to maintain inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.
•Develops procedures and work instructions for the technical work performed in the area of responsibility.
•Maintains an understanding of the current status of all project deliverables and time lines.
•Completes training on relevant quality procedures and understands his/her contribution to the achievement of company quality objectives.
•Other duties as assigned.
•High School Diploma
•Minimum three years’ experience machining a variety of material: aluminum, plastic, carbon fiber, steel
•Understanding of machining production processes and quality requirements
•Moderate understanding of how to read technical drawings and blueprints
•Ability to perform work wearing all required personal protective equipment
•Physical activities can include standing, repetitive motion, walking, lifting, pushing or carrying heavy objects
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
•Competent writing, organizational, and communication skills
•Moderate proficiency with CAD software systems (SolidWorks preferred).
•Moderate proficiency with MASTERCAM, including programming and operation
•General understanding of GD&T principles
