Looking for an experienced Plumber to join our team (Journeyman Preferred). Orcas Island Plumbing and Heating is family owned and operated. We are in the beautiful San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State on Orcas Island. Salary is based on experience and performance. Additional benefits include Vacation, Sick Leave, and Health Insurance. If needed, relocation assistance will be provided on an as needed basis, and negotiated during the offer phase.
A qualified candidate will independently install, maintain and repair pipes and fixtures associated with heating, water distribution and sanitation systems in residential and commercial structures. Candidate will Inspect drainage and other plumbing systems to confirm compliance with local and national regulations. Candidate must be reliable, trustworthy and have great customer relation skills.
-Interprets blueprints and building specifications to pap layout for pipes, drainage systems and other plumbing materials.
-Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids.
-Plan and complete all necessary steps in the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing in water and drain systems.
-Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, and electricians.
-Troubleshoot instances of system malfunctions, interruptions and failures.
-Perform repairs and installations to meet the manufacturer's recommendations, local codes and customer's expectations.
-Startup installed equipment and adjusts to the manufacturers and job specification.
-Adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
-Ensure complete customer satisfaction from start to finish of project.
-Use hand tools i.e. hand saws, pipe cutters, screwdrivers, wrenches, measuring tapes, shovels, levelling devices etc.
-Use of power tools, i.e. electric/battery drills, power saws, angle grinders, laser and leveling devices.
-Maintain plumbing certifications through continued education efforts.
-Drive vehicles and operate machinery.
-Follow written and verbal instructions in workplace.
-Other responsibilities as necessary.

-Ability to work in a collaborative or independent work environment
-Possession of a Valid Drivers License
-Possession of a Washington State Plumbing Card (Journeyman Preferred)
