With the support of the Information Technology Director, the System Administrator will provide technical support over the enterprise computing environment which includes installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting the enterprise computer networks servers. The System Administrator will install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes. The successful candidate will also provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization primarily in a Linux environment.
Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance
Travel between regional operation locations on a regular basis
Possess a strong work ethic, drive and determination to get results no matter what obstacles are presented.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with users, IT staff and service providers in a clear, concise manner.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
Working knowledge of virtualization
Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
Experience with scripting and automation tools
A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be able to meet insurance underwriting requirements. Must work outside normal business hours when necessary.

Frequently required to stand, walk, reach/grasp with arms and hands, climb and balance, and to stoop kneel, crouch or craw.
Regularly required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and infrequently required to lift, push, pull up to 40lbs
