Maintenance Mechanic, Tank Management (Contractor)

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm
• Responsible for the cleaning, inspection, and maintenance of portable product vessels within the Genentech, Hillsboro Technical Operations facility
• Provide support to plant maintenance as needed
• Ensure all portable product vessels and tank management equipment are maintained in the following manner:
o All portable product vessels and equipment remains in its designed and/or validated state at all times
o All portable product vessels and equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Genentech regulations, procedures, and policies
• Ensure I maintain all assigned Tank Management equipment areas remain in a constant state of inspection readiness; specifically, but not limited to, the following:
o Cleanliness
o Personnel and equipment safety
o Compliance to cGMP requirements
• Identify training deficiencies, provide recommendations for training and where applicable provide training
• Continuously evaluate maintenance practices to eliminate nonproductive activities and implement productivity enhancements
• Complete preventive maintenance and assigned paperwork in a safe and timely manner following all cGMP documentation guidelines
• Work in close proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, and moving machinery/equipment
• Conduct work in an FDA regulated environment
• rform other duties assigned by management to support Tank Management

• High School diploma or equivalent, technical degree, certificate, or coursework a plus
• Preferred 5 yrs. minimum experience in an industrial I manufacturing maintenance/operation environment Thorough knowledge of cGMP compliance
• Must be able to pass the vision test to perform tank inspections
• Ability to perform maintenance and equipment servicing according to standard operating procedures
• Thorough working knowledge of basic shop tools operation and safety
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs
• Ability to execute work from standard operating procedures
• Have basic computer skills using word processors, spreadsheets, databases, and email
• Must continuously demonstrate the ability to work safely in an environment containing hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, high pressure liquids and gasses, steam, varying electrical voltages and moving machinery
• Knowledge of and ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
• Must be detail oriented and demonstrate good record keeping practices
• Ability to work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support operations as needed
• Thorough working knowledge of cGMPs and be able work effectively in a highly regulated environment
• Thorough working knowledge of Federal, State, Local and Genentech regulations, procedures, and policies associated with industrial waste, bulk chemicals I gasses, refrigerants and hazardous waste
• Demonstrate effective communication skills including preparing technical reports, the revision of various technical documents and procedures
• Demonstrate ability to be self-driven and work independently while fostering a teamwork environment with minimal supervision
• Must be detail oriented, organized and capable of multi-tasking
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• st be able to climb ladders and work at elevations up to 30 feet

• Attend all required cGMP training as required by Department Policy
• Attend all required safety training as required by Department Policy
• Complete on-the-job training using established training procedures
• Maintain qualifications as assigned
