Customer Service Representative
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides service and support to Inside Sales, Outside Sales and our customers. Each employee should have a working understanding of their role in supporting the Food Safety Management System and the food safety hazards of the job to which they are assigned.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service team will write orders and process orders so they can be placed into the scheduling program. After completion the CSR will work with the Sales Rep. to get orders shipped and invoiced and generally assist the Sales team. This person must have very strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction. Shields employees are expected to maintain a safe, clean, and organized workplace at all times.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process production orders for Sales.
Prepare information packets for, and work closely with, the SAS team in developing SKUs.
Receive telephone calls regarding job status, pricing and questions on orders.
Research answers to questions asked by Sales or customers. This may include working with Technical Services, Production Managers, Quality Assurance, Prepress Department and Scheduling.
Track critical orders from receipt to arrival at the customer.
Move orders when needed in the schedule to accommodate our customer’s needs.
Update pricing, quotes, inventory, and status sheets as required, utilizing various types of communication.
Work with shipping to expedite orders that have critical delivery dates. This may include setting up air shipments.
Review the bill-of-ladings for accuracy on orders that shipped the previous day and prepare them for invoicing.
Company policies, procedures, and practices are implemented via this position. Quality of products is directly related to the effectiveness of individuals in this job. A broad base of current technical knowledge is required to ensure that standards are met and efficiencies are maintained. Problem solving and decision making abilities are essential for success.
High school graduate or equivalent. Some college or a college degree preferred.
Good understanding of our manufacturing process, including scheduling and shipping.
Basic understanding of a PC, phone, etc. Knowledge of all related computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
Sales and/or marketing experience. Direct dealings with customers and suppliers.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Accurate and attentive to detail.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong typing and computer application skills.
Ability to assist and support others.
Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, fax, and other basic business machines.
