The Finance Coordinator provides financial analysis, validation of operational and clinical data to support decision making, and various financial reports. Assists with general accounting functions within the Finance department.
Prepares financial reports and data for management from financial and clinical systems.
Performs cost accounting duties.
Conducts payer contract analysis.
Performs account analysis.
Complies with organization and accounting policies and standards to assist in successful operations of the department.
Reviews registration status and ensures this accurately reflects the clinical order placed by the Provider.
Receives requests and submits payer specific documents required for accurate level of care for billing purposes.
Develops new and edits existing reports that supports VMM’s need to monitor and trend Clinical, Financial, Quality and Patient Satisfaction data.
Performs quantitative analysis on an ad-hoc basis.
Ascertains accurate and timely payer responses for payment and coordinates clinical review with the Utilization Management team for any discrepancies.
Provides knowledgeable and professional communication with all contacts.
Cross-trains in other areas within the department when necessary.
Works closely with Patient Access staff regarding notification to payers, and proactively submits clinical data required for review and appropriate payment.
Effectively communicates with Providers regarding missing, incomplete or inaccurate documentation.
Collaborates with the Physician Advisor regarding up front denials from payers to facilitate peer to peer review.
Performs other accounting duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: One year of directly related experience preferred.
