The Samaritan Business Office is seeking a Patient Accountant Representative to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for accurately billing patient accounts, ensuring timely claim submission and reimbursement from various third-party payers, ensuring proper account documentation in the organization's billing system, and pursuing follow-up efforts on aged accounts.
You may be a qualified candidate for this position with the following education and experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Demonstrated knowledge and experience with third-party payer guidelines, reimbursement, follow-up, and collections.
-Demonstrated knowledge of claims review and analysis; ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding; and medical terminology.
-1-2 years of customer service and/or business office experience preferred, ideally in medical settings.
-Minimum one-year of successful, relevant experience in Hospital or Clinic billing.
-Note: Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
This is a full time, Monday through Friday position; 40 hours per week 9 am-5:30 pm. This position is not a telecommute opportunity.
The individual in this position reports to the Director of Patient Financial Services and works closely with Payors and all departments in order to protect the finances of Samaritan Healthcare.
The ideal candidate will fully understand the Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategy of Samaritan Healthcare, personifying service, and operational excellence. An intuitive understanding of Samaritan’s Team Accountability and Respect System (STARS) is expected, including the creation and maintenance of the best patient, employee, physician, and student experience.
