As a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) you will assist providers and other members of the clinic health care team by performing a variety of back-office and patient-related tasks to ensure a smooth patient workflow within the department. In this role, you will provide a variety of patient care procedures within the scope of practice as defined by the Samaritan Clinic under Washington State certification. The scope of practice may include, but is not limited to: injections, ear lavage, blood draws, measuring patient vital signs, proficiency in swabs to include Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Strep and Covid-19, manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties as well as informing the provider of schedule changes that impact patient flow.
We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, the desire to work with children on a daily basis, and the ability to explain procedures to young patients and their families in a compassionate and reassuring manner. Experience working as an MA-C in pediatrics or family medicine is preferred; EPIC experience is desired. This position will support our growing pediatric clinic team serving our Pioneer location.
You may qualify for this position with the following credentialing and experience:
-Active license in the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant-Certified (National certifications must still become credentialed through the WA State Department of Health)
-Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems, Epic preferred
-Current Healthcare Provider (HCP) CPR certification
-Previous experience in pediatrics and/or family medicine preferred
Competencies include, but are not limited to:
-Demonstrated competency in the provision of care for customers/patients across the age continuum
-Critical thinking in seeking appropriate direction and the ability to independently exercise safe judgment in decision making
-Ability to practice within legal and ethical guidelines
-Demonstrated competency on equipment and skills
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week between 7:45a -5:15p.

Qualifications for eligibility:
Newly hired permanent Certified Medical Assistant who works 36-40 hrs/week
Minimum 2-year employment commitment
$1,500 Sign-On Advance is paid to qualified new MA-C graduate upon successfully completing their employment probation period (approximately 90 days)
$3,000 Sign-On Advance is paid to qualified MA-C with two or more years of experience upon successfully completing their employment probation period (approximately 90 days)
Executes a Sign-On Advance Agreement.
