Job Description

Ensures that the operation of the Boiler and Refrigeration system is conducted efficiently and safely in cooperation with the Maintenance Team Leader, Process Team Leader and Packaging Team Leader to achieve operational goals.
Ensures the efficient operation of all equipment in the Boiler and Refrigeration area by using preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing equipment to achieve operational goals.
Ensures the accuracy of data reporting systems such as refrigeration logs, boiler logs, SAP system (work order system) and cold storage warehouse recorders.
Conducts audits on the fire sprinkler systems as required.
Respond to any ammonia incidents in appropriate PPE to evaluate and take corrective actions including level B response.
Ensures that work orders are completed as assigned & notifications are entered in system correctly.
Maintains work area in a clean and functional condition.
Performs assigned responsibilities during plant evacuation or other emergency situations, which includes the fire sprinkler system.
Ensures that the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style consistent with operational goals.
Performs other functions as directed.

Job Qualifications

Maintain a good attendance record.
Communicate well in the English language in both written and oral form.
Two years of education in the field of Boiler and Refrigeration. Experience in other food manufacturing positions may be substituted for education. Experience in food manufacturing refrigeration and/or boiler systems may be substituted for education.
Prefer Refrigeration Engineering Technician Association (RETA) certification.
Be able to read and interpret written instructions, manufacturers’ manuals, P&ID’s, MSDS, and engineering drawings.
Be able to climb stairs and ladders as well as work on elevated platforms.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Work safely and be able to use personal protective equipment, such as respirators, SCBA, and safety harness.
Must be able to pass respirator fit test.
Be responsible for following company policies and procedures.
