Maintenance II HVAC/R Technician
YMASalary ScheduleHours/day: 8 Days/year: 260Directly Responsible to: Director of Maintenance and Operations or Designee
Minimum Qualifications:
 High school diploma or GED.
 Minimum of five years work experience with commercial heating, cooling and refrigeration systems.
 An approved two-year training program, 06A Electrician’s Card and a Universal Refrigeration Certification as required by: 40CFR Part 82, Subpart, F. 06A Card must be of an active status within 6 months of employment.
 Ability to accurately read blue prints and schematics.
 Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, controls and refrigeration systems.
 Ability to install, service, repair, maintain, and perform efficiency tuning of gas, electric and oil heating systems.
 Knowledge of hot water and chemical treatment, to include, monitoring, maintaining and setup of said systems.
 Conduct preventative maintenance service on HVAC equipment.
 Ability to install, service, repair and maintain cooling systems, including planned compressor monitoring, clean up and replacement of said equipment.
 Must possess strong writing skills, and attention to detail.
 Experience preparing time and materials estimates for project completion.
 Ability to order and schedule delivery of materials for projects.
 Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
 Ability to work independently; knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC/R trade, including materials, tools, and procedures used in installing HVAC systems and troubleshooting.
 Record of dependability, flexibility and regular attendance. Must possess a strong work ethic.
 Physical ability to perform required duties.
 Ability to work at extreme heights and confined spaces.
 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members, students, district staff, and supervisor.
