Through a cooperative agreement between Yakima Valley College and Perry Technical Institute, students have the opportunity to earn both an Associate of Applied Science Degree from YVC and a PTI certificate. This unique partnership allows you to enhance your trade skill education while simultaneously providing you with a foundation of Human Relations, Communications, Mathematics and a broad range of Business related electives. The following Perry Tech programs all qualify to participate in the Combined Degrees pathway:
Electrical Technology: Perry Technical Institute’s 24-month program offers students a diversified curriculum that guides them through the process of becoming electricians. During classroom, lab and fieldwork experiences, students gain valuable theory while incorporating current NEC codes and WAC/RCW rules, laws, and procedures with hands-on application.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology (HVAC/R): Perry Technical Institute’s 24-month program covers all aspects of the field, from refrigeration fundamentals to direct digital control and energy management systems.
Instrumentation & Industrial Automation Technology: Perry Technical Institute’s 24-month program introduces students to today’s world of computerized industrial automated manufacturing.
By completing a designated PTI program and earning an additional 32 credits through Yakima Valley College, students can graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree from YVC and a certificate from Perry Tech. After paying the PTI registration fee, accepted students are eligible to begin the required courses at Yakima Valley College. YVC offers both online and in-seat classes.
