ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGY

    Graduated:
2003

Current Position:
Electrical Apprentice
Berg Electric, Las Vegas, NV
Mother of one

Why she chose Perry:
“Before coming to Perry, I had gone to nursing school for two years, but I decided that nursing wasn’t the thing for me. I needed to find something to do to earn a decent living since I’m a single mom. Because of my grandma, I checked out Perry Tech. She thought a technical school would be someplace for me to learn how to make a decent living.”

Why women should consider a technical career:
“If there are women out there who don’t feel like they fit into traditional roles behind a desk, and if they’ve got the mental and physical power, they should try becoming an electrician. It’s a friendly environment for women to go into. Men have respect for women who do technical jobs. I’d like to see more women in these trades.”
