Available Scholarships
Perry Technical Foundation provides financial support to students through internal and external scholarships. For more information on internal scholarships, see the Foundation Scholarship section of the website.
External scholarships are provided by organizations not affiliated with Perry Technical Institute. While the Foundation staff is happy to assist you in the application process, it is up to you to follow the scholarship guidelines and submit the completed application on time.
Copies of guidelines and applications are available in the Foundation Office.
National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers Dave Nelsen Scholarship Award
Eligible applicants are students currently attending or planning to attend a technical college or trade school that is involved in the Oil Heating Industry. Applications are due March 19, 2010.
Washington Cattle Feeders Association Scholarship
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in areas of study pertaining to the beef cattle industry, or students who have a family history in the beef industry. Scholarships are awarded based on industry background, academic merit, leadership, activities, personal accomplishments and the demonstrated ability to contribute to the agricultural industry. Applications are due March 25, 2010.
Junior League of Yakima Memorial Scholarship
The Junior League of Yakima will be awarding two scholarships in the amount of $3000.00. Applicant must be a woman with ties to the Yakima area who is at least 25 years of age and who has had a significant break in her education following high school graduation. The applicant must have plans to pursue her degree in the Yakima Valley following graduation. Applications are due April 15, 2010.
The Home Depot Trade Scholarship Program
Eligible applicants are students currently enrolled in a building and construction trade school program at a college, university or accredited educational institution. Eligible programs at Perry Technical Institute include Electrical and HVAC/R. Application can be accessed at homedepot.com/tradescholarship. Applications are due April 30, 2010.
Yakima Valley Construction Federation
Candidates must be attending college or trade school in the fall 2010 with a focus on the construction field or related industry and have a GPA of 2.3 or better. Applications are due May 30, 2010.
National Scholarship Fund for Migrant Children
This scholarship offers financial assistance to migrant farmworker youth who have the potential and desire to further their education to achieve their personal and career goals. Applicants must show a recent history of movement for agricultural employment; scholastic potential; financial need and to be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited public or private college, technical or vocational school. No application deadline.
