Precision Machining & Manufacturing

The 1-year Precision Machining & Manufacturing program begins with theory and practical application of hands-on performance before transitioning into computerized machining principles. Students study the properties of metals, program specific mathematics, blueprint reading, computer numerical control (CNC) programming, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) using industry standard software, and can also prepare for industry certifications. Additionally, fused deposition modeling (FDM) 3D Printing is incorporated into the curriculum by which students are able create a variety of items including jigs, fixtures, custom prototype parts and more using a number of different filaments including carbon fiber-nylon.

Wherever you find strict tolerances in manufacturing production, you will often discover a machinist playing a role in that process. Industries rely on accuracy and creativity, while striving for continuous improvement. Graduates of this program typically find careers in, but not limited to, aerospace, automotive, and technology industries.
