As a machinist, you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a project go from blueprint to finished product.
Perry’s two-year Machine Technology Program will prepare you for entry-level positions in a variety of manufacturing fields. You’ll learn the skills required to plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications.
The curriculum covers blueprint reading, manual machining, computerized machining, drawing and 3-D modeling. The program teaches the machine trade by combining theory with practical application in the shop.
Machine technology is a field that offers a wide variety of work environments, responsibilities and types of work. Machinists work in nearly every industry and their skills are always in demand. Training as a machinist can also be a stepping stone to a career as a manufacturing engineer or a mechanical engineer.
