Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant

Put your people skills to work in a versatile career as a medical assistant. Medical assistants help keep medical practices, clinics, and other health-care facilities running smoothly. As a medical assistant, you’ll work as part of a health-care team to help patients feel comfortable and at ease.

The 18-month Medical Assistant Program teaches both the office skills and the clinical and patient care skills needed to work as a medical assistant in a variety of settings. The curriculum covers computer applications, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, clinical procedures, and electronic health records.

The courses prepare students to take the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination.

The demand for medical assistants will continue to increase as physicians look for ways to deliver care in a more efficient and cost effective manner.
