About Perry
As parents, our goal is to help our children become independent. Perry Technical Institute equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to land excellent jobs and the self-discipline and work habits they need to become valued employees.
Academics in action
Perry Technical Institute is a private, non-profit technical school offering 11 paths to successful careers. Our instructors bring a wealth of industry experience to the classroom putting difficult-to-understand subjects like math and physics into action in practical, hands-on assignments. Advanced students excel. Struggling students grasp concepts when they see theory applied in the everyday world of work.
School as a job
Your son or daughter will learn self-discipline and personal responsibility by punching a time clock and being held accountable to established standards for punctuality and attendance. Perry instills the positive habits and work ethics that employers value in their employees.
Education backed by the Perry reputation
Perry graduates take more than strong technical skills and positive work habits into the workforce – they take Perry’s unsurpassed reputation in industry, the trademark of excellence in the 10 fields for which we offer training. Perry’s training programs are approved by the Washington State Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
Putting people to work for 70 years
Harriet I. Perry founded Perry Technical Institute in 1939 as a lasting memorial to her late husband, Yakima business pioneer John M. Perry. Over the years, the school has grown, adapting its programs to meet the changing needs of the workplace. However, the school’s mission has remained unchanged. Perry Technical Institute’s mission is to provide industry with well-trained employees and to offer students of all ages and walks of life opportunities to train for meaningful careers.
A student is more than a number
