Paying for Perry
Your education is one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make. Perry Tech’s Student Financial Services is dedicated to guiding you through the process of applying for financial aid.
Perry Technical Institute is a Title IV-funded institution of higher education. Financial aid is administered in accordance with established state and federal policies and philosophies. Aid in the form of grants, loans, jobs and scholarships help offset the cost of educational expenses.
Your financial aid award is based on demonstrated need. Need is determined from analysis of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and the Perry Technical Institute Data Sheet. Financial need is the difference between total education expenses for an academic year and the student/family contribution.
START EARLY
We encourage students to start the process six months before they plan to start school.

STEP 5 – Accept Awards (grants or loans)
When your financial aid package has been completed, you will receive an award letter. Please sign and return a copy of your award letter as soon as possible to the Student Financial Services Office. To decline any of the awards, simply draw a line through the amount and initial the change. If you have accepted a loan, you will need to electronically sign your loan promissory note.
Alternative Education Loans
Private loans are used by families to help pay the cost to attend college when other financial aid is not enough or when they want different loan terms than what is offered by the government loan programs. We recommend that you consider private loans only after you have borrowed the maximum amounts allowed through the government student loan programs by submitting the FAFSA as stated above in STEP 1. Direct Plus loans are low-interest loans for parents of dependent students. Parents should carefully consider whether the PLUS Loan program is a better option than a private education loan. There are many alternative loans offered to students. Please research and choose the best option for you. Select the following link to see our current list of potential private loan options for students Alternative Loan Benefit Comparison Chart. For additional information, see the Financial Aid Code of Conduct.
