He decided to pursue his interest in art by enrolling in the Visual Communication & Graphic Technology Program at Perry Technical Institute. Johnson was recently honored as Perry Tech’s February Student of the Month. “Chad is an excellent example of hard work,” said Michael Malaska, head of Perry’s Visual Communication & Graphic Technology Program. “Every project, big or small, gets Chad’s full attention.” A Yakima native, Johnson graduated from Naches Valley High School in 1993 and earned a bachelor of arts degree in Biblical literature from Northwest University in Kirkland in 1998. The 12-month Legal Assistant/Paralegal Program will prepare students for entry-level legal office jobs in businesses such as private law firms and government offices. “We are offering the Legal Assistant/Paralegal Program to meet an increasing demand for qualified legal assistants and to provide a practical and relevant educational experience for students,” said Nathan Hull, Perry’s dean of education. “This program will further enhance our current office programs by providing yet another avenue for students to specialize in.” The program is a combination of training in traditional office skills, soft skills and specialized legal skills.
